Student organizations across campus came together this past week to compete in a series
of events for the Homecoming Club Olympics Championship Belt.

Each year during homecoming week, the Bobcats, a University of Arizona senior
honorary, puts on a series of games and contests to boost school spirit and camaraderie on
campus. The games take place on the mall, the hub of student life, drawing in hundreds of
student spectators.

From Oct. 31 to Nov. 2, Wildcats took part in a homecoming-themed social media
contest, Campus Pantry donation drive and games including sponge relays where students have
to race with a wet sponge, Capture the Wilbur and Wilma and mud tug.

“So many people come out to cheer for their team, and the games bring out a wonderful
spirit of friendly competition,” said Sydney Braaten, an Arizona Ambassador and member of
SMORES Sophomore Honorary, two organizations that always show out for the events.

The organizations involved included sororities, fraternities, academic and social clubs,
grade-level honoraries and other spirit groups.

“Signing up your organization gives them a chance to meet other involved students and
make some fun homecoming memories,” said Aubrey Winger, Pi Beta Phi’s Director of Service
and Philanthropy.
